Day 9

Sorry there was no post until now.Dale and I had to leave Boston at 7:30 this morning for a family emergency.Everything turned out well, but we didn't know until we were more than half way home.We got home around 12:45 we had a very long ride. I hope everyone enjoyed them.Thanks for following along with us.

Day 8 Ogunquit Maine





Today was our last day with Tony and Monica,before they left we stopped in Ogunquit and walked on the marginal Way. We also walked into the ocean the water was very cold. We had a great time traveling with Tony and Monica hope to do it again,

The Old Man of the Sea




We stopped by to see the statue of the Old Man of the Sea. This is a memorial for the sailors that were lost at sea.

Rockport





our last stop of the day was Rockport Maine. This is where they have a red barn that they say is the most painted barn. It is a cool place.

Lobster



When in Maine you eat lobster.Bernie was the only one to eat it. I sat next to him and I know one thing I will never eat lobster.

Day 8 Rain




This is the way the day started out. RAIN when Dale opened the door of our motel room this is what he seen. I didn't even know it was raining ,we all just put our rain gear on and traveled on.

Windsor Chairmakers





While we were on our ride today we passed a barn where they make the Windsor chairs.We got to go through their workshop and see how they made them and then we went into the showroom and seen how expensive they are. The highboy that they made was 10,000 and the chairs were over 1000.

Pier





Walking around the pier we seen some cool boats.There was one from Kodiak Alaska that was huge and had a batman symbol attached to the boat underwater we didn't know what it was for.

Lunch Time in Camden Maine




It finally stopped raining and we stopped in Camden to look around and have some lunch.We ate a wood fire pizza that was good and we had some baked blue berry square that were delicious.

Day 7 Town of Bar Harbor





This morning we walked around the town ,then walked the beach path back to the Inn.

Otter pond walk in Acadia





We decided to take a walk around the edge of the coast,we had a time limit so we kept watch on the time it took us about an hour and a half to walk not very far because we kept stopping and climbing down the on the rocks.The coast is beautiful.

The Margret Todd





the Margret Todd is 150 feet long ,we seen them put up 4 of the sails. There was a good wind blowing so we cruised along at 7 knots.

Dale helped raise the sail on the ship,we got to bring drinks for our evening cruise.

Sunset cruise





Tonight we took a sunset cruise on the Margret Todd. We all had a great time the weather was great and the view was beautiful.

Day 6 On our way to Bar Harbor





We got up this morning and started driving to Bar Harbor where we will be staying for a couple of day. On the way we stopped at a little Harbor Town just to stretch our legs. I thought it was pretty cool that the boat I happened to take a picture of was called Daddy's girl.
